Based on this assessment, detailed repair or upgrade suggestions are provided, which must be addressed to maintain eligibility for listing. This rigorous process ensures only the most reliable and well-maintained Land Cruisers are available, offering peace of mind to both passengers and operators.

1. Engine and Transmission #
- Engine Performance: Address any oil leaks, unusual noises, or issues with starting and acceleration.

- Transmission: Repair or replace components for smooth gear shifting; check and fix the clutch if needed.
- Drive Belts and Timing Belt: Inspect for wear and replace if necessary.
2. Suspension and Steering #
- Suspension Integrity: Replace worn-out coil springs, leaf springs, or shock absorbers for a smooth ride.
- Steering Mechanism: Fix any issues with steering responsiveness, alignment, or looseness in the steering wheel.
- Ball Joints and Tie Rods: Inspect and replace if there’s excessive play or wear.
3. Brakes #
- Brake Pads and Discs: Replace if worn down or damaged to ensure effective braking.
- Brake Lines and Fluids: Repair leaks and top up or replace brake fluid if necessary.
- Hand Brake: Adjust or repair to ensure full functionality and responsiveness.
4. Electrical and Battery #
- Battery Health: Replace weak or faulty battery to ensure the electrical systems are reliable.
- Lighting System: Fix non-functional headlights, taillights, indicators, or dashboard lights.
- Charging Ports: Repair non-operational charging ports for passenger use.
- Alternator: Inspect for charging issues and repair or replace if necessary.
5. Cooling System #
- Radiator and Coolant: Repair leaks, refill coolant, and ensure the radiator is functioning properly.
- Fan Belts and Hoses: Replace any worn or damaged belts and hoses.
- Thermostat: Check for overheating issues and replace the thermostat if malfunctioning.
6. Tires and Wheels #
- Tire Tread and Pressure: Replace tires with insufficient tread or improper inflation; ensure tires are all-terrain.
- Spare Tire: Ensure a functional spare tire is available, accessible, and properly inflated.
- Wheel Alignment and Balancing: Adjust alignment and balance to prevent uneven wear and improve handling.
7. Vehicle Body and Frame #
- Rust and Corrosion: Treat or repair any areas affected by rust, especially on the undercarriage.

10. Compliance and Documentation #
- eTims Compliance: Ensure the vehicle meets electronic tax register requirements for safaris.
- Road Service License: Renew or validate the vehicle’s Road Service License as required by local authorities.
- Speed Governor License: Update or repair the speed governor to comply with local speed regulation standards.
- Insurance: Confirm the vehicle has valid and comprehensive insurance coverage for safari operations.
Compliance Deadline #
Vehicle owners have up to one month from the inspection date to address and resolve all identified issues. Failure to comply with MasaiMara.ke standards within this period may result in the vehicle being delisted from the platform.
